Medical treatment coordination in India: what a facilitator can and cannot do
A medical-travel facilitator helps organise information, appointments, estimates, and practical logistics. It does not replace a doctor, hospital, insurer, immigration authority, or emergency service.
Before travel
The report-first process can include collecting available records, routing a case for hospital review, arranging consultations, requesting a written estimate, and explaining which travel questions still need clinical or official confirmation.
During the journey
Agreed support may include airport arrival, accommodation, local transport, appointment scheduling, interpretation, discharge logistics, and follow-up coordination. The patient remains responsible for informed consent, payments, official visa decisions, and following medical advice.
What we do not control
Hospitals and clinicians control diagnosis, treatment choices, final clinical charges, admission, complications, and outcomes. Government authorities control visa decisions. Airlines and clinicians determine travel restrictions. These boundaries should be visible before a patient commits.
Make the written scope easy to compare
Before payment, ask for a written list of what the hospital provides, what the facilitator coordinates, who receives each payment, how long support lasts, and how extensions, cancellations, taxes, complications, or a changed treatment plan are handled. Clear scope helps a patient compare providers without assuming that coordination is clinical care.
Keep records and follow-up visible
Ask what the patient receives after each stage: hospital estimate, appointment details, payment receipt, discharge summary, medication instructions, test results, and follow-up contact. The scope should explain how records and questions are coordinated after the patient returns home.
